- Rosegarden - An integrated midi sequenser and musical notation editor for Unix-like systems. The latest version is the pretty old, but stable Version 2.1. Rosegarden is currently being rewritten to be extensible and to overcome limitations in the previous design. Rosegarden 3.0 will use GTK+, CORBA and GUILE. Sadly, progress has been stalled for a while now.
- Sound & MIDI Software For Linux - This site has links to everything related to music on Linux. Also has links to programming documentation, sound repositories, other sites etc. Updated frequently.
- SoundTracker - MOD tracker for X, similar to FastTracker. Also includes a sample recorder and editor.
- TiMidity++ - A midi to wave converter. Uses Gravis Ultrasound-compatible patch files. Can be used to play midi-files on computers with soundcards without midi-support.
